Marina Prudenskaya

Mezzo-soprano MARINA PRUDENSKAYA was born in St. Petersburg and, after studying singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, received her first engagement at the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow. In 2000, she moved to the Nuremberg State Theater, where she worked on many roles in her repertoire. In addition to many awards, she won the ARD Music Competition in 2003. From 2005 to 2007 she was a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble. This was followed by guest engagements at the festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Bayreuth, among others, as well as at numerous European opera houses. From 2007-2013, she was a permanent member of the Stuttgart Opera ensemble, where she can still be heard regularly today. She has been a member of the Staatsoper Berlin ensemble since 2013 and sings the roles of the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Venus (Tannhäuser) and Eboli (Don Carlo), among others. Numerous guest engagements have taken her to the festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Bayreuth as well as to numerous international opera houses such as La Scala in Milan, the Washington National Opera, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2020 as Herodias (Salome).
