Regula Mühlemann

Regula Mühlemann was born in Adligenswil and studied with Barbara Locher at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She was a finalist at the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes in Geneva and won numerous prizes, including a scholarship from the Friedl-Wald-Stiftung, the Migros Culture Percentage and the Elvira Lüthi Wegmann Foundation. In 2015 she was a finalist at the Cardiff Singer of the World. She is a Sony Classical exclusive artist. Her début album Mozart Arias (issued in autumn 2016) won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik in February 2017. Her second album Cleopatra was issued in September 2017. In 2018 she received the Opus Klassik award as Young Artist of the Year. Recent opera performances include Marzelline in Fidelio at the Theater an der Wien, Papagena in The Magic Flute in Baden-Baden, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette in Lucerne, Zerlina in Don Giovanni in Paris, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos at Milan’s La Scala, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro in Geneva, at the Zurich Opera and in Salzburg. Last season she appeared in concert with Ian Page and the Mozartists at London’s Wigmore Hall, sang J. S. Bach’s Magnificat with members of the Vienna Symphony and Philippe Jordan at the Wiener Musikverein, gave Lieder evenings in Switzerland and at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, and appeared as a guest with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and Rolando Villazón as part of the Mozartwoche on Tour in the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Philharmonie de Paris. She toured Stuttgart, Berlin and Freiburg with the Freiburger Barockorchester, sang in Lucerne, Geneva and Basel with the Basel Chamber Orchestra, and sang with Piotr Beczała in the ZDF Advent Concert in Dresden’s Frauenkirche. She débuted at the Wiener Staatsoper in February 2020 as Adina in L’elisir d’amore and joins the ensemble in September 2020.
