Nikita Ivasechko

Ukrainian baritone Nikita Ivasechko was born in St. Petersburg and studied at the Kiev Glier Institute of Music with Vitaliy Gmudenko, at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Mario Hoff and at the Detmold University of Music with KS Mario Zeffiri. While still a student, his first engagements took him to the Landestheater Detmold as Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and, with the same role, to the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, as part of a production directed by Jasmin Solfaghari and filmed by PAMY GmbH Media Production. At this year's gala opening concert of the Jurmala Festival in Riga, Nikita Ivasechko appeared as soloist with selected opera arias by Bellini, Bizet and Verdi, conducted by Mārtiņš Ozoliņš and accompanied by the Jurmala Festival Orchestra. Together with the soprano Maria Nazarova and accompanied by the Italian conductor Michele Gamba, he also appeared in Milan in an evening of arias with excerpts from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Verdi's Don Carlo. In July 2021 Nikita Ivasechko won first prize at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale in Portofino, Italy, under the jury chairmanship of Dominique Meyer, and in June 2022 he won second prize at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, which is associated with a guest engagement at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. Since the 2022/2023 season Nykyta Ivasechko has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Vienna State Opera. At the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, he will make his house and role debut as Ivan Ivanovic in a new production of Shostakovich's Nos directed by Gergely Madaras and staged by Àlex Ollé (La Fura dels Baus). Nikita Ivasechko is a scholarship holder of the Czerwenka Private Foundation.
