Wir freuen uns, Sie bei unserem »Tag der offenen Tür« in der Wiener Staatsoper begrüßen zu dürfen. Sie können einen Blick hinter die Kulissen des Opernbetriebs werfen und sich faszinieren lassen: In zahlreichen Stationen geben die unterschiedlichen Gruppen Einblick in ihre Arbeit, besondere Kostüme, Requisiten, technisches Equipment sind ebenso zu sehen wie man Proben des Bühnenorchesters, des Chors, des Staatsballetts, der Opernschule sowie Einzelproben von Ensemblemitgliedern miterleben kann. Zuletzt gibt es ein Sing-Along im Großen Haus!

We look forward to welcoming you at our »Open Day« at the Vienna State Opera. You can take a look behind the scenes of the opera business and be fascinated: In numerous stations the different groups give insight into their work, special costumes, props, technical equipment can be seen as well as one can witness rehearsals of the stage orchestra, the choir, the State Ballet, the opera school as well as individual rehearsals of ensemble members. Last but not least, there will be a Sing-Along!

MITMACHEN

WORKSHOPS ZUM MITMACHEN:
DER OFFIZIELLE FREUNDESKREIS LÄDT EIN → Carlos Kleiber-Probebühne
Als maßgeblicher Förderer zahlreicher Aktivitäten der Staatsoper lädt der Offizielle Freundeskreis der Wiener Staatsoper zu zwei Mitmach-Workshops ein:

1. Opern-Workshop: Wir bauen eine Oper: Der Barbier für Kinder (und Familien). Hier sind Besucher*innen jeden Alters eingeladen, eine Mini-Oper im Schnelldurchlauf zu entwickeln und zu spielen.
2. Tanz-Workshop: Besucher*innen jeden Alters sind eingeladen, Einblicke in das Ballett Don Quixote zu erhalten und gemeinsam mit Tänzer Igor Milos in die Arbeit an einer Charakterrolle einzutauchen.

BÜHNENTECHNIK → Haupt- und Seitenbühne
Mitarbeiter*innen der Technik und Betriebsfeuerwehr präsentieren Spezialgeräte (Scheinwerfer, Nebel- und Dampfma- schinen u.ä.) und lüften auf diese Weise das eine oder andere Geheimnis aus der magischen Welt des Theaters. Weiters kann das Publikum Requisiten beliebter Produktionen aus der Nähe begutachten und Scheinwerfer sowie Ton- oder Spezialeffekte selbst auslösen. Außerdem gibt es eine Leinwand für Live-Kamera-Mitschnitte mit Echtzeiteffekten.

»ZWEI MINUTEN MIT...« → Schwindfoyer
Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit, alles, was Sie schon immer über die Staatsoper wissen wollten, zu erfragen! An einem langen Tisch stehen Mitarbeiter*innen der Staatsoper aus allen Abteilungen für kurze Einzelgespräche zur Verfügung, nach einem Glockenzeichen rücken alle Gäste – wie beim Speeddating – einen Platz weiter und bekommen somit neue Gesprächspartner*innen!

KOSTÜMPRÄSENTATION → Marmorsaal & große Damen-Sologarderobe
Aus dem reichen Fundus der Wiener Staatsoper werden eindrucksvolle Kostüme und außergewöhnliche Requisiten ge- zeigt. In der großen Damen-Sologarderobe hinter der Bühne, die das Publikum ausnahmsweise betreten kann, sind außer- dem Kostüme vorbereitet, als würde ein Auftritt bevorstehen.

FOTOWÄNDE → Schwindloggia
Einmal Don Bartolo, einmal Zerlina sein oder sich in Dornröschen und Prinz Désiré verwandeln! Große Fotowände mit aus- gesparten Figurenköpfen laden ein, in bekannte Opern- und Ballettrollen zu schlüpfen.

AUSSTELLUNG OPERNBALL-KRÖNCHEN → Feststiegen-Umgang
Die Krönchen der Debütantinnen sind stets ein besonderes optisches Highlight des Wiener Opernballs. Anhand der ausgestellten Kollektion können Besucher*innen einige der letzten Opernbälle Revue passieren lassen.

Nahezu allabendlich steht das große Kollektiv des Chores auf der Bühne der Staatsoper. Am Tag der offenen Tür be- steht für die Besucher*innen die einzigartige Möglichkeit, in den fordernden Probenalltag einzutauchen und aus nächster Nähe die Arbeit der Sänger*innen und des Chordirektors mitzuerleben.

Das junge Publikum darf spektakuläre Kostüme aus dem Fundus der Wiener Staatsoper anprobieren, über einen Lauf- steg defilieren und sich auf einem Podest fotografieren lassen.

MASKE & KINDERSCHMINKEN → Marmorsaal & Annex
Mitarbeiter*innen der Abteilung Maske ermöglichen Einblicke in die Welt der Verwandlung: Schau-Schminken und -Fri- sieren, Perückenknüpfen etc. Zusätzlich werden in einer Fotopräsentation besondere Kostüme und Masken verschiedener Produktionen gezeigt. Im Marmorsaal-Annex gibt es darüber hinaus wieder die beliebte Kinderschminkstation.

KINDER-RÄTSELRALLYE → im ganzen Haus
Hier ist Raten und Mitmachen gefragt! Alle Kinder erhalten beim Eingang Rätselbögen mit Fragen zu einzelnen Statio- nen des Tags der offenen Tür. Die richtig beantworteten Bögen nehmen nach dem Tag der offenen Tür an einer Verlosung eines besonderen Preises teil. Die ausgefüllten Rätselbögen können jederzeit im Foyer bei der Feststiege abgegeben werden.

TO ATTEND INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS! → Carlos Kleiber-Probebühne

As a key supporter of outreach activities, the Official Circle of Friends of the Vienna State Opera invites you to attend two participatory workshops:

1. Opera workshop: We build an opera: The Barber of Seville for children (and families). Participants of all ages are in- vited to develop and perform a mini-opera at high speed.
2. Dance workshop: Participants of all ages are invited to get an insight into the ballet Don Quixote and to dive into the work on a character role together with dancer Igor Milos.

The Open Day ends on the main stage with a hosted sing-along programme including excerpts from popular operas. Once the visitors have left the theatre, they will all remember happily that they sang with soloists of the Vienna State Opera.

EXPERIENCE

STAGE EQUIPMENT & EFFECTS → Main and Side stage
Employees from the Technical department and the in-house fire brigade present special equipment (spotlights, fog and steam machines, etc.) and reveal a few secrets from the magical world of theatre. The visiting public can also examine props from popular productions up close and even try their hand at operating spotlights as well as sound or special effects. There is also a screen for live camera recordings with real-time effects.

»TWO MINUTES WITH...« → Schwindfoyer
This is where you have the opportunity to ask everything you always wanted to know about the State Opera. Employees from all departments of the State Opera are available for brief personal chats at a long table. When the bell rings, everyone moves along a place and gets someone new to talk to – just like speed dating!

Impressive costumes and unusual props from the abundant inventory of the Vienna State Opera are on display. In the Large Women Soloists’ Wardrobe behind the stage, open to the audience as an exceptional opportunity, costumes are laid out as they would be in the run-up to a performance.

To be Don Bartolo or Zerlina just once, or to transform oneself into the Sleeping Beauty or Prince Désiré! Large photo walls with the heads of the figures cut out invite you to look through the holes from behind and slip into various well- known opera and ballet roles.

EXHIBITION OF THE OPERA BALL TIARAS → Area around the Grand Staircase
The tiaras of the debutantes are always a special visual highlight of the Vienna Opera Ball. The exhibited collection all- ows the visitors to review some of the most recent opera balls.

Employees from the make-up department provide insights into the world of transformation: make-up and hairstyle demon- strations, wig-making, etc. In addition, special costumes and make-up from various productions are presented in a series of photographs. The Annexe also accommodate the popular children’s make-up area again.

CHILDREN’S QUIZ RALLY → throughout the building
Have a guess and join in here! All children get a puzzle sheet of questions about the individual areas of the Open Day. Correctly completed sheets will be entered into a draw for a special prize after the Open Day. The completed children’s puzzle sheets can be handed in at any time in the Foyer, by the Grand Staircase.
